Dear North Andover Family, The North Andover community is very lucky to have the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center. We are lucky to have talented staff working with our kids 6 days a week to make sure they have support, guidance and a safe haven. We are lucky that the Youth Center provides resources for youth programs and that the families who use the center are able to pay user fees that support some of the operating expenses. |

We are lucky that children in the Middle School and High School have a place to go after school. We are lucky that our schools and social agencies work with the youth center staff to identify and assist those at-risk youth who desperately need the services that the Youth Center provides.But it takes more than luck. Many people in town are surprised that: - A large number of children cannot afford the $75 membership fee. The Youth Center's policy is that no child will be denied membership due to his or her inability to afford this fee. As a result of this policy, last year the Youth Center provided over 100 "scholarships" to eligible families.
- Nearly 100 programs are run annually supporting over 3,000 of our Town's youth. In addition, all outside program costs and operating expenses are funded from membership fees and donations.
- The Youth Center is the main location for youth-at-risk programs dealing with anorexia/bulimia, drugs and alcohol intervention.
- The Youth Center organizes the Thanksgiving and Holiday Drives, which provide needy families with much needed meals and gifts, as well as numerous other programs that exemplify the great community that we have here in North Andover.
We are lucky to have the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center and all of its programs. But we need your contribution this year to continue providing these services that we are so fortunate to have in our community. Consider the value that the Youth Center and its unique programs bring to our Town. Make the decision to keep our community strong and support our youth. Please consider a tax-deductible contribution of $25, $50, $100 or even $500 to support the Youth Center.
