Parents, We Need Your Help!
Do you have a skill or talent that you are willing to share?   Do you feel like you want to get more involved in your community but are not sure how to get started?   Have you previously considered volunteering but you were worried that the commitment might be too difficult?   Please read further if you answered yes to any of these questions.

The Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center, Inc. is looking for parent volunteers to join us on the Board of Directors or one of our Committees.   The JNHYC is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising funds for our youth center and North Andover Youth Services.   In the past, we have raised funds through auctions, golf tournaments, the Annual Fund Campaign, walkathons, raffles, etc.   In addition, we help maintain and raise awareness of youth center activities through various public relations and marketing campaigns.   Our current Board and Committees are staffed with dedicated members but we must bring in new volunteers to keep our ideas fresh and to increase involvement from parents of our younger members.

Over the course of the summer, we will be talking to potential volunteers with the hope of bringing them into our group for the fall.   We need help in all areas and we are specifically seeking help within the following areas of responsibility:

  • Assistant Treasurer - This position will help the Treasurer maintain accurate books and records and will eventually take over the Treasurer’s position after one year.
  • Public Relations and Marketing - We are looking for creative individuals who can write articles, develop brochures, or who can help us raise awareness of the various activities and services provided through North Andover Youth Services.
  • Fundraising - We need several people to help implement and manage our annual fundraising campaign.  We are also planning some new events this year and we need creative people who can help us plan and stage these events.
  • Grant Writing - There are numerous charitable organizations and companies that make donations to organizations like the JNHYC.  We need help in drafting grant proposals to these organizations.
There are many other areas in which we need help.   We would love to hear from you if you have any skill or talent that you feel could be useful to our cause.   Please contact Dave Sharp (978-686-1570) or Donna Phaneuf (978-688-4613) for more information.
