HOLIDAY DRIVES:  North Andover Youth & Recreation Services, with help from local residents and businesses, supply families in need of assistance with Thanksgiving meals and holiday gifts. This year NAYRS was able to provide close to 100 families with full Thanksgiving meals and almost 300 children with holiday gifts. More information about our holiday drives can be found here.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GROUP: Our Girls Group is geared towards females at the high school who could benefit from a social/support group that focuses on exploring personal strengths and weaknesses, values, feeling, positive decision making, handling of conflict situations at home/school, relationships (peer, family, community), and several other topics.  Girls Groups meet once a week during the school day.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS GROUPS: We three Middle School Girls Groups; these are in-school groups for each grade that run during related arts periods once a week. These groups deal with today’s issues around relationships (friends, family, school), decision making skills, goals, self/body image, and a variety of other topics that are of concern during the middle school years. JUVENILE DIVERSION: Juvenile Diversion is a non-criminal disposition finding alternative means for youth rather than going through regular court process. Alternatives to court might include counseling, community service, and/or restitution. Eligible juveniles are between the ages of 7 and 17. Diversion is only for first time offenders, and is made on the recommendation of the arresting officer.
PARENT AWARENESS PROGRAMS: Youth & Recreation Services, in collaboration with local agencies sponsors on-going parent programs . If there are programs you would like to see please contact Rick Gorman.
YOUTH TRACKING & OUTREACH: The purpose of our Tracking and Outreach program is to offer support and guidance to the youth of North Andover.  Tracking/Outreach is not counseling or therapy, but rather time spent between a Youth & Recreation Services staff and one participant.  The time spent together may include a recreational activity, having lunch, or just talking and getting to know one another. Tracking/Outreach should be a positive and enjoyable experience for all those involved.

Our support services staff are often called upon to act as mediators for family or peer issues. The staff at Youth & Recreation Services are trained mediators.
RESOURCE GUIDE: North Andover Youth & Recreation Services provides an information and referral guide for local therapists and counselors.  You can view the Resource Guide here. It was updated in September 2017. This booklet  is available to Parents, Students, Teachers and Guidance Counselors. If any local therapist that would like to be added, please contact Laura at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
