Rick has been Executive Director of Youth & Recreation Services since it began in 1988. He received his Masters Degree in Community Social Psychology from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell in 1993 and received his Bachelors degree in Government and Pre-Law from Suffolk University in 1984.
Rick has been the recipient of numerous local, state, and national awards in his past 20 years with Youth Services. In 1993 he received the prestigious Lord Baden Powell Award for Distinguished Citizenship. In 2005 Rick was inducted into the ABA (Academic Basketball Awareness Camp) Hall of Fame. |
Rick has been responsible for managing the Youth Center, implementing and overseeing programs, conducting long range planning, and fundraising, as well as supervising staff members and volunteers. Although Rick’s responsibilities lie mostly in administration, he does find time to facilitate some programming such as, the Teenco Dance Committee and the REEBOK Fall Ball. Rick’s passion lies in youth sports. He has coached numerous teams at various levels and is often counsulted by youth sports organizations on issues from philosophy, character development, team building and training. Rick is presently the Development Director for the Merrimack Valley Youth Basketball League and Vice President of Methuen Youth Basketball. Rick is also founder and Director of the widely popular New England Storm AAU Basketball program and B.S.T. Hoops Academy. In his spare time Rick enjoys running basketball skills clinics, kayaking the Merrimack River, playing hoop with the Wildcats, listening to Bruce and following his beloved Celtics, Raiders and Yankees. Rick has been married to Nancy for 20 years and has two children, Michael (17) a junior at Methuen High and Lyndsey (13) a 7th grader at Tenney Grammar.
| Michelle Grasso - Support Services Coordinator

Michelle joined our team in April, 2008. She graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester with a degree in Political Science in 2000. While there she was a Resident Assistant, where her nights involved running programs and counseling fellow college students as needed. Prior positions have involved working with high school students including teaching test preparation courses, career development and college consultation. She is very excited to join the Youth & Recreation Services team and provide support to both middle school and high school students.
| In her spare time, Michelle stays active by running,playing golf and hanging out with her new husband Erminio! She also enjoys being involved in charity work and over the past few years has done work for St Jude Children’s Hospital’s Fitness for a Cure Event and the American Cancer Society. She is excited to bring her passion and energy to the Holiday Drives and other programs for North Andover Youth & Recreation Services.

Josh graduated from Endicott College with a BS in Sports Management in May 2006. Over the past two years, Josh has been with Hoop Specialists and HoopGains as the Director of Basketball Operations in North Andover and Haverhill. Josh ran many programs such as travel, AAU, and after school basketball. He organized the biggest Christmas Tournament in Massachusetts last year as well as directed the very large Big Threat AAU organization. When Josh is not on the clock, he is a die hard Boston sports fan, cheering for the undefeated New England Patriots, World Series Champion Red Sox, and the New Big Three Boston Celtics. Josh is very excited about joining the NAYC and is looking forward to working with the North Andover community |
| Micaela Tetrault - Program Coordinator

Micaela has been an active member at the Youth Center since her middle school days. She started out as a part-time employee during her high school years and is currently working part-time while also attending school. Micaela serves as a co-Coordinator for Summer Fun 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and is currently enjoying her newest role as the co-leader of "Youth Council", a high school leadership group that takes place on Thursday nights. |
| Micaela is attending Salem State College studying Psychology and upon graduation she wants to keep her options open but would love to continue working with kids in some capacity. In her spare time Micaela loves to spend time with her family and friends |
| Ted Schruender - Program Coordinator - Weeknights

Ted Schruender has been a part of North Andover Youth & Recreation Services on some level for almost ten years now! He has had many roles at the Youth Center and currently is working on a part time basis running the Youth Council and the 4th Grade Saturday Morning basketball league. Ted graduated from North Andover High School in 2000 and went on to graduate from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2004 with a degree in Sport Management. He is currently working at Georgetown High School in the special education department. |
| Ted is also the boys freshman basketball coach at North Andover High School. Ted is a diehard Boston sports fan, rooting especially for the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots. A long time Youth & Recreation Services member, Ted is very excited to begin working in his new capacity. |
 | Tod Workman -Volunteer Building Supervisor By day Tod is the senior custodian at the North Andover Middle school but whenever something breaks, the walls need painting, electrical and plumbing issues arise its Tod Workman we call. Tod is a jack of all trades and always wears a smile. A graduate of North Andover High school where he excelled on the championship Wrestling teams in the mid eighties. Tod is married to Lisa and the father of two young children Leah and Austin. |

Don's first job is that of a Senior Database Architect. However, as a "second job" Don tends to various technology support issues at the Youth Center. Whether it be providing support for broken staff PC's, networking issues, the computer lab, web site support or anything else, Don is available 24 X 7 to assist. Don has been associated with the Youth Center for over 5 years since becoming a member of the Board of Directors. Recently, he started a new "Technology Club" at the Youth Center providing members interested in computers something new to enjoy. Don lives in North Andover and is married to Debbie Romano and has two children in the school system: Alex and Angela. |
