Varsity Youth Council and Youth Council have had an extremely busy spring!  Youth Council hosted a Winter Wonderland Day for 3rd graders at the Youth Center, where the 3rd graders could come down to the Youth Center for the afternoon to take part in different activities!  It was a great oppurtunity for the kids to have fun with the Youth Council group, while also getting familiar with the Youth Center to prepare them for next year and to hang out with their friends and meet kids from other schools!  Youth Council also has done activities such as make holiday placemats for children at St. Judes. This past month they hosted a Buddy Day at the Youth Center with the Special Education class from the high school.  Everyone had an amazing time, they did a relay race, an egg hunt, and a basketball game and then enjoyed some delicious Stachey's pizza together!  Currently Youth Council is working on their skits that they put on for the 8th graders at the middle school to introduce them to some issues that they may face in high school!  They are also looking forward to volunteering again at the Sargent School for an upcoming 5th grade dance.

Varsity Youth Council has also been extremely busy.  Back in March, they put on a Winter Wonderland Dance at the Senior Center that they co-hosted with Helping Hands. They had such a wonderful time at the Senior Center that they were eager to plan a trip back there. Now they are looking forward to joining them for a Spring Dinner Party in May at the Senior Center. Varsity Youth Council also sold Haitian Relief Bracelets and the money was donated to a hospital in Haiti. Varsity Youth Council hosted a Spring Fling party at the Edgewood Nursing Home. They each made delicious snacks and went to the nursing home to visit. They enjoyed themselves so much that they went back to the nursing home to visit again a month later!

With only a month left of Varsity Youth Council and Youth Council, we feel as though we were able to accomplish alot and are still looking forward to a few activities that we do have left!  Both groups were amazing!  We were able to continue with alot of events that we have done annually such as the High School Girl's Powderpuff Football game and the 3rd grade Winter Wonderland Day, but we are also very pleased with all the new activites we did this year such as Cradles to Crayons, helping out at the Sargent School, Buddy Day at the Youth Center, and being able to do events with our wonderful new friends at the Senior Center and Nursing Home, among so many other things!
